  • Early Childhood & Infant/Toddler Assistant Training (online)

    The IT and EC Assistant Workshops will cover the basics of Montessori philosophy and theory, child development, role of the assistant, classroom organization and setup, how observing children can tell us about our classroom and community needs, communication skills, conflict resolution/emotional guidance, and an introduction to some of the Montessori materials.

  • Montessori Philosophy Overview (online)

    The Montessori Philosophy overview course will cover the basics of Montessori philosophy, the history of the Montessori movement, an overview of Montessori curriculum and methodology for children from birth - adolescence, the critical importance of observation and the concept of Montessori for adults. This course is recommended for members of the Montessori community who do not have Montessori certification - administrators, board members, parents, teachers and support staff.

  • Building Hope and Resilience

    When we squarely face the realities of climate change, our divided country and our economic challenges, it can feel overwhelming to imagine the world our children will navigate. There are things we can do to set children up for the best outcomes in difficult situations. 

    Resilience, a sense of personal competence, hope and valuing community are mindsets that have served humans well during difficult times. They’re also highly teachable and Montessori environments offer daily opportunities for practice. Let’s take a hopeful approach to finding agency for ourselves as we prepare our children for the challenges of today and the future.

  • Observation: How we come to know and trust our children

    A regular observation practice is at the heart of Montessori methodology. We know we should observe but it often gets pushed to the bottom of the to-do list.

    When we observe, we see what our children are capable of and learn to trust their ability to manage themselves independently. We understand when to step in and when to stay out of their way. We’ll reconnect to the purpose of observation, explore logistics and make an observation plan for your classroom.
